Well, this blog post is the follow up post for my April 2015 Maybank credit card statement. Finally I managed to control my credit card spending after I had started use last year when I applied with my degree certificate. Apparently I need to settle my credit card statement before 15th every month for my last month usage and I had accumulated a total of RM674.82 for last month (May) debt as below.
After login to my account, I went to pay RM438.35 from Visa Gold and RM236.47 from Amex credit card as below.
Somehow I'm not sure about the reason of paying less few dollar for Amex card when I pay RM236.47 as below.
Anyways, I'm glad that I had settled all credit card outstanding balance as below.
The TREATS Points that I earned from Maybank credit card has accumulated a total of 21,601 points (Amex 17,773 + Visa 3,508 + Maybank 300) as below.
However, it is quite shock that I had spend a total of RM6728.37 (RM674.82 + RM1212.89 + RM1617.77 + RM2002.99 + RM332.72 + RM887.18) just to get a 21K points and no doubt that why people say credit card is a trap in someway that lead you to spend the "unnecessary money" as below.
Frankly speaking, I just felt that money had becoming more important as I grown older as all those "honeymoon" has gone in someway. Today's society talks about how capable you can earn more money in order to measure how success you are in life. No doubt that I had become one of it since I had my UK loan, PTPTN loan and others commitment to settle every month. In fact, I should say that life after graduates is full of debt especially for Malaysian people as chasing your dreams seems to means like "earn more money no matter you use what method" as below. (No offend please)
Over time, I start to understand why people say that education never gonna be FREE, even if it's FREE, you will need to pay with your TIME to study it. Moreover, you will NOT APPRECIATE if somethings come FREE or too easy right? At last, I'm glad that I'm a credit card debt free now at this moment of writing as below.
Guess I shall celebrate it with a Malaysian Ringgit cake although our Malaysian currency price had dropped a lot.
