After office hour ends, I drive my car to The Intermark, Vista Tower to attend a Digital Marketing Meeting (#DMM360) about User Experience (UX) vs Marketing sharing by Kok Chiann.
The details of the itinerary event and the parking is flat rate RM5 after 5pm as shown below.
The topic of the month is UX vs Marketing. (While marketing and UX are not core-value compatible, they are powerful assets to a company if managed wisely and held in proper balance. They will inevitably be required to work together because they share the common interests of understanding human behavior and building brand loyalty)
Frankly speaking, I was frustrated when heading to Vista Tower because I miss turn few point and drive a longer route to there. I arrived around 7.25pm and parked in basement 1 as below.
Upon arrival, I meet a forum guy that there and he asked me why come here. I told him the reason but he say don't waste time going this kind of event as it sounds like MLM or some direct sales. Anyways, I decided to follow my own intuition to find out myself although I was late for the event. Somehow I walked to the wrong place and the staff at Integra Tower told me that direction to Vista Tower. I registered myself in the ground floor and get a visitor pass.
The lift didn't have any button to press and it is auto set to 14th floor when you touch your card.
Well, the event had almost comes to ends as it is a Q&A session by Kok Chiann, UX Manager of Ezypay & iconnect360 as below.
Surprisingly I was one of my ex-colleague at Japanese gaming company back in 2013 there.
Besides, I do get to know a Japanese friend from there banking sector who is currently an investor as he had retired. Well, Mr Aki shared a lot of story of those startup company. I was amazed he is one of the person in charge to close the $600M deals for the emails system to Yahoo in those olden days. Anyways, it is a great event and I just get to know they are also one of the payment gateway company in Malaysia but their based is at Australia. Somehow I just heard "Elevator pitch" keyword when going down from the lift. After that, we have our dinner at one of the cafe and the duck cheesy pizza is great (RM15 each person) as I get to listen to more stories. (Do you agree that CEO is very lonely at the top of management? CEO's decision would influence so many people while CEO often have to decide by oneself on confidential matters.)
Later on, I fetch Mr Aki back to Wangsa Maju and I'm thankful to him to help me how to learn Japanese easily. It is all about honesty and he say that Japanese people don't like to cheat people compared to "the other side country" of people.
For now, I just hope that I will be selected to visit Japan for FREE at this upcoming 22nd October interview. At this point of writing, I feel that what Steve Job's say is true about "Connecting the dots" as he say's "You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something - your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life" which seems quite legit. Around 12.20am I finally reach my Klang home and I didn't do any Uber thingy after work. Seriously people need to have some time to adapt to new technology. According to Mr Aki sharing from his other friend who work in Google, technology can change the life of people and also kills some jobs. In future, the job of lawyer or doctor can be easily replaced by technology.
The latest technology would be the nano technology that can be implanted in our brain and download information just like I wish to do one day. This would eventually made all those university and college is worthless when people can download information into their brain by the year 2030. Somehow this sounds like ridiculous as it looks like Chappie movie but who will really know what is the future would be in 25 years later? Guess it is true that no people would "fund your own research" and "only yourself need to fund yourself" and show some traction before can get investment from angel investor or venture capitalist. At last, I hope I can find the answer that I'm looking for about "why we're here" one day. Stay positive!
