If you have been followed my blog for sometime, I'm sure that you would want to hear more life experience and the things that is important in life as I grown older in Malaysia. Apparently food is one of the basic necessity of life. Without food, confirm all of us will not live in this world anymore. Recently I had stumble upon this OpenRice mobile application that I find it useful to find food around the place I used to go, work and live around. I'm sure this apps might be familiar to most of the "food hunter" but they had just updated their latest upgraded OpenRice version 5 mobile app. For now, you can get to know the most updated food news all in one app. All you need to do is just download their OpenRice app from Google Play Store for Android or Apple Store for iPhone operating system (IOS). Upon finished download, just open the apps and you see the option below.
Select your location and the Language that you preferred.
Then you can choose to sign up either with Facebook, Google or your personal email. Personally I think it is easy to sign up using my Facebook login as you just need to click one button to continue.
Upon login in, the first impression to me is I find it is quite user friendly with the introduction guide provided in the apps.
You can find the food that is nearby, buffet, steamboat, cafe, new restaurant, noodles, desserts and latest review at first glance of the screen. I just searched the food nearby and you can bookmark the restaurant that you wish to go for future reference.
Besides, you can filter the food that you wish to go by distance and your spending capabilities.
I like the additional features where you can choose 24 hours, accept reservation or air-conditioned restaurant. It is information to me to find a 24 hour restaurant because normally when I "drive people around" part time, I would mostly free after 10pm and most of the restaurant had closed that moment.
Somehow I just tried to search around the place at Petaling Jaya (PJ) area and found this Ah Yat Abalone Forum restaurant.
The guide is clear and you can find the exact location by tapping the map button below.
Moreover, you can view the picture posted by others user below.
Just looking at this Abalone and Lobster picture really makes me hungry.
After office hour end, I try to search around the place nearby to my working place using OpenRice apps. Then I decided to have my dinner at Ribs King (排骨王) restaurant with my colleague as I had been "OT" today.
It took about 10 minute, 3.2km from the place I work to the restaurant using Waze GPS apps.
Upon arrival, the restaurant is quite full with people.
Then I order the food from the menu and it is quite cheap as per OpenRice price description which is below RM10.
I ordered the pork chop with black pepper sauce for RM8.90. The set meal come with a bowl of FREE soup, vegetable, egg and the meat you select.
We also ordered an extra Bee Hoon for the meal.
The total bills is around RM32 for two person since we ordered an extra food. The OpenRice apps is good to know food information around the place. On the other hand, you can look into more new restaurant opening by tapping the home tap and the results is shown below.
In addition, you can look through the review from others people sharing.
I do likes dessert and the apps can categorize a tab for all the dessert place around.
Furthermore, there is promotion option available where you can find the restaurant offers in the apps.
At last, if you wish to travel to oversea, you can change your region from current city: Klang Valley to Tokyo, Japan shown below.
It works well in other country and I tried to change to Bangkok too and the result is shown below.
For now, I will just discover the place around Malaysia where you can choose from Penang, Perak, Johor, Malacca, Sabah, Sarawak, Negeri Sembilan, East Coast, Kedah, Perlis state and more.
The apps is quite happening where you can know the latest campaign that they have such as the Complete and Win games shown below.
Anyways, feel free to download OpenRice mobile app today and below is the details information about the apps.
