During the afternoon, I met up with Ms Ivy from FoodMsia blog at one of the Klang's BKT restaurant. Upon arrival at Fong Keow Bak Kut Teh (凤娇肉骨茶) restaurant, it seems that the place is newly renovated as I recall that I haven see the shop new design before.
Apparently this area is the place that my father used to work during his 30++ year old. Upon seated, I just flip through the menu and got to know the BKT bowl cost for RM12.50, claypot for RM13.50 and dry claypot for RM14.50 per person.
They just ordered the food and we're then being served with Chinese "Tea King" although there are others type of tea available.
I kinda like the cute tea cup that being served to us. After waited for about 10 minutes, the food is being served to us and it is recommended to add the fried garlic onions into the fragrance rice. (RM1.20 for small while RM1.50 for big bowl of rice)
The first dish we have is the claypot Bak Kut Teh for 3 person, dry claypot BKT, followed by Red Wine chicken that cost for RM32 and 4 pieces beancurd pork roll for RM12.
I like the taste of the claypot BKT and I was curious about the meat as it has a little red when being served. Hence, I asked the staff and he shared that the cook actually specially cook the BKT's "Wu Hua" meat (五花肉) for 1 hour+ and all the juice is being absorbed into the meat.
Hence, it will taste nicer and you can see the different at the upper side of picture below.
As for the dry BKT, I just felt normal only and I prefer the red wine chicken because it has a deep thick broth that carry a good taste. They use rice wine when preparing this dish.
Next we have the "Qing Long" (green dragon vegetable) that cost for RM13 and the taste is nice.
The sweet sour prawn that cost for RM38 is fresh as you don't really need to peel the skin of the prawn.
Moreover, the prawn size come in medium and the sauce is nice to eat together with the fragrance rice.
The final dish we have is this spicy sotong that cost for RM20.
The spiciness of this squid dish is just okay and not really so spicy.
Overall it is a nice experience to dine in this BKT restaurant with so many choices of food.
Furthermore, they have a history of operating for 30 years in the BKT field. Below is the details of Fong Keow (Pottery) Bak Kut Teh (凤娇肉骨茶) restaurant at Jalan Batai Laut area.
